Can You Fast Travel in Soulframe? The Difference Between Careful and Paranoid

Yes. Soulframe has fast travel, and on the live build (Preludes 15: Gods & Ghosts, posted 10 June 2026 on the official patch-notes page at soulframe.com and now carrying sixteen hotfixes) it works one way only: finish The Waste Bear fable, then spend one Wevetseed to jump from anywhere on the surface to a World Tree you have already cleansed, or to your Enclave. Seeds are the entire constraint. The Wise Elm in your Nightfold yields one to three every twelve hours, your inventory holds a hundred at most, and no merchant in the game sells them.

I write instruction leaflets into consumer test copy for a living, which means I record two things before I trust any document: the model it describes and the date on the page. Soulframe punishes anyone who skips that step. Every figure below is tied to the build it came from, because the ones that circulate in older guides were true and are no longer.

What The Waste Bear unlocks, and what it does not

The Waste Bear is Bromius's introductory fable, and completing it is the single gate on the fast travel ability. Before you can start it, Ancestor Verminia has to be present in your Nightfold. Speaking to her hands you the quest automatically, with no prompt to accept.

The fable sends you into the Wevetwood after the Wazzard of Wastes. He takes your Pact at the opening of the fight, so the encounter is weapons-only, and he cycles through caster, tree and swarm forms before he drops. When his health is gone you interact with him, the corrupted tree sprouts back out of the ground, and the Envoy pulls a Wevetseed from it.

How much you receive depends on which document you read. The drop-table data on the community Soulframe Wiki at avakot.org lists a `Wevetseed x 20` entry gated behind completion of The Waste Bear, so the first delivery is a stack. Older walkthroughs, including Shacknews' quest guide, describe it as a single seed. If you are counting your opening budget, read your inventory rather than either page.

The lasting reward is the plant, not the stack. Bromius gifts the Envoy a Wise Elm, which grows on the left-hand edge of Verminia's station in the Nightfold and becomes your only repeatable seed source. The Wevetseed itself, also called the Voicing Seed, entered the game in Preludes 11 according to the wiki's consumables data module, which is why guides written before that update do not mention travel at all.

What the fable does not do is give you anywhere to go. Finishing it with an unexplored map leaves you with seeds and an empty destination list. That separation is where most confusion about this system starts, and it is the reason two different unlock questions keep appearing in search.

Cleansing World Trees is what creates destinations

Destinations come from exploration on foot. A dormant World Tree appears as a grey, gnarled trunk with a large polearm driven into it. Interact with it, pull the polearm out, and three things happen at once: the fog covering that stretch of the map lifts, you gain Mastery, and one line of the Lore Poem fills in inside your Envoy's Journal.

There are sixteen trees on the isle of Midrath. The first is the "Rise, Envoy" tree east-southeast of Rivernest, cleansed at the end of the opening fable. The count reached sixteen back in the Preludes 13 line and has held since, though older articles still print fifteen. Each tree also carries a Votives Shrine offering short-term objectives and world events, which were renamed from Sparrow's Tales to Enclave Votives in Preludes 15.

The sixteenth is worth a separate note. Tree XVI sits on Pigwen Skerry, an island off the northwestern coast, and it was unreachable by ordinary means until swimming arrived in the Preludes 14.5 line. Fextralife's Soulframe wiki still flags that tree as accessible only if a party member unlocked it before a patch, and dates its own World Trees page "as of Prelude 13." Two credible pages disagree, one of them by its own admission out of date. The client settles it in about ten seconds: swim out, look for the polearm.

Cleansing the full set is also a reward in itself. The wiki ties Mastery and the craftable polearm Duhk Halic to the World Tree chain, so the walk that builds your travel network is not dead time.

What each jump costs and how quickly seeds come back

One Wevetseed per jump, deducted automatically from your inventory when the travel confirms. There is no distance scaling, no discount for short hops and no charge for arriving.

Resupply is where the design bites. The Wise Elm produces one to three Wevetseeds every twelve real hours, and the timer starts from the moment you harvest, not from a fixed server reset. Miss a pickup by six hours and the whole cycle slides six hours later. The seeds do not appear in your inventory on their own; you have to walk to the Elm and take them. They are not stocked in the Wares of Zenith, and no vendor anywhere carries them.

The avakot wiki's consumable entry puts the ceiling at one hundred Wevetseeds held at once. Harvest on schedule, twice a day, at the midpoint of the yield range, and you gain roughly four seeds daily. Filling an empty inventory to the cap on that pace takes about twenty-five days. That arithmetic is mine, derived from the wiki's stated rates; Digital Extremes does not publish a fill-time figure.

Returning to the Nightfold is free and unlimited, keyed to Tab by default on PC, and blocked only while you are in combat. The Nightfold toggle is not fast travel and costs nothing, so treating it as a seed expense is a mistake that shows up constantly in beginner threads.

One live caveat: there is an open bug report on the official Soulframe forums about Wevetseeds failing to stack and vanishing on harvest. If you are stockpiling, count the number in your inventory rather than assuming the harvests added up.

Which screen confirms a destination is eligible

The World Map, and specifically the icon on the marker. Valid fast travel destinations display a Golden Acorn, and the same markers show a Wevetseed icon on them. Hold down left-click on one and the jump resolves. Markers without that symbol are not eligible, and no amount of seeds changes that.

Three marker types are permanently excluded: Locations, Dungeons, and Revive Shrines. Revive Shrines are the trap of the three, because they look like travel nodes and behave like respawn checkpoints. They restore you where you died; they never appear as a departure or arrival point.

You do not need to be standing at a World Tree to leave. Fast travel can be initiated from anywhere on the surface, so the trip to a departure point that other games require does not exist here. Walking to a tree in order to use a tree is lost time.

For the ledger view, open the Envoy's Journal and count the filled lines of the Lore Poem. One line per cleansed tree, sixteen lines when the set is complete. That count is the honest answer to "how many places can I reach," and it updates the moment you pull a polearm.

Soulframe, Soulmask, and map discovery are three different systems

Searches for Soulframe travel keep pulling in Soulmask, a separate survival game with a separate portal system. They resolve the same player problem with opposite economics, and Soulframe's own map-discovery loop is a third mechanism again.

| | Soulframe fast travel | Soulmask portals | Soulframe map discovery | |---|---|---|---| | What unlocks it | The Waste Bear fable | Mysterious Portals found per biome; Personal Portals built from three dungeon parts | Reaching a World Tree on foot | | Setup cost | None beyond the fable | Three green crystals per Mysterious Portal, about 18 for the full set | The walk itself | | Cost per trip | One Wevetseed, every time | Nothing; activation is a one-off fee | Not applicable | | Where you land | Cleansed World Trees and your Enclave | Any activated portal | Nowhere; it reveals terrain | | Both ends required | No, you can depart from anywhere | Yes, both portals must be activated | Not applicable | | What else it gives | Nothing | Mysterious Portals carry your full inventory; Personal Portals carry worn gear only | Mastery, a Lore Poem line, a Votives Shrine |

The practical difference is what happens on day thirty. In Soulmask, the crystals are a one-time toll and the network is then free forever, so travel stops being a resource decision. In Soulframe, the network is free to build and every individual trip is charged, so a player two hundred hours in still spends a seed to cross Midrath. Player reports place Soulmask's portal access around awareness 30 and portal use around awareness 40, which are progression thresholds rather than published specifications, so treat them as community figures.

Map discovery belongs in the comparison because Soulframe's overview screens blend the two. Cleansing a tree lifts fog and adds a destination in the same instant, which is why the two get reported as one feature, but the fog lifts whether or not you have ever held a seed.

Does your squad travel with you?

Soulframe parties hold four Envoys, according to the wiki's multiplayer page. That cap was three until the Preludes 14.5: Ode'n Tempers hotfix line raised it, which is why guides published in 2025 still describe a trio. Everyone must have completed Rise, Envoy to group, there is no matchmaking, and parties are assembled by hand through the Recruiting chat, the Friends list, or the official Discord.

On whether a jump moves the whole group, the sources split. The avakot wiki's Fast Travel page states that consuming a Wevetseed transports you and your party. Several third-party guides state the opposite, that there is no party teleport and co-op players must rejoin the host's instance. I have not found a patch note that settles it, and I am not going to assert either version as fact.

Test it in one minute: group up, have the host jump to a tree, and watch whether the client's screen loads with them. Then check whether one seed left the inventory or two.

Preludes 15 also changed what happens when you arrive. Players from other instances now appear near World Trees, so a tree is a meeting point where you can inspect gear and send invites, and player trading was opened at Enclaves and World Trees for crafted gear, runes, totems and resources.

Careful and paranoid are not the same habit

Careful costs nothing. Before trusting any Soulframe travel guide, check the build it was written against and check the date on the page. The evidence that this matters is in the numbers themselves: Shacknews describes one seed per day, the current wiki says one to three per twelve hours, and both were accurate when published. Confirm the acorn icon on a marker before planning a route around it. Harvest at two fixed real-world times so the twelve-hour regrowth clock stays aligned with your play sessions. Count your seeds by hand while the stacking bug is open.

Paranoid costs play time and buys nothing. Hoarding toward the hundred-seed cap banks a hundred jumps for a build that offers sixteen trees plus your Enclave, which is roughly six times more travel than the map has distinct places to travel to. Refusing to spend a seed on a genuinely long crossing, then walking it, converts a resource you regenerate for free into an hour you do not get back. Walking to a World Tree in order to fast travel from it ignores the fact that departure is location-independent. And dismissing the current harvest rate because an older article contradicts it inverts the whole exercise: the guide is the stale document, not the game.

The measure that settles most cases is distance per seed. Spending one to skip four minutes of walking is a poor trade at a yield of one to three per twelve hours. Spending one to cross Midrath is what the twelve-hour cycle was priced for.

What is coming next

Preludes 16 has not shipped as of early September 2026, and Preludes 15 is still the live build. Community trackers list a Temper crafting rework, fishing, a wolf pup companion and dynamic weather, with a target of mid-September. Nothing announced touches Wevetseed rates or the World Tree network, but the release cadence this year (Preludes 13 on 13 February, Preludes 14 on 17 April, Preludes 15 on 10 June) suggests roughly two months between numbered updates. Recheck the harvest rate and the party cap after the next one lands.

Frequently asked questions

How do you unlock teleport in Soulframe?

Complete The Waste Bear fable. Speak to Ancestor Verminia in your Nightfold to receive it, travel to the Wevetwood, and defeat the Wazzard of Wastes. Finishing the fable grants Wevetseeds and plants the Wise Elm beside Verminia's station, which becomes your permanent seed supply for every future jump.

How do you unlock fast travel?

Two separate steps unlock it. The Waste Bear fable unlocks the ability and the seeds that power it. Cleansing World Trees on foot unlocks the destinations, since you can only travel to trees whose polearm you have already pulled. Complete only the fable and you will have seeds with nowhere to spend them.

How do you get fast-travel seeds in Soulframe?

Wevetseeds come from The Waste Bear fable first. The community wiki's drop table lists a twenty-seed entry gated behind that completion, though older guides report a single seed. After the fable, the Wise Elm in your Nightfold is the only repeatable source in the game. No merchant stocks them, including the Wares of Zenith.

How do you get Wevetseeds in Soulframe?

Harvest them manually from the Wise Elm on the left-hand edge of Verminia's station in your Nightfold. The plant yields one to three seeds every twelve real hours, with the timer starting at your last pickup rather than at a fixed reset. You can hold one hundred at most, and each fast travel consumes exactly one.

How do you find World Trees in Soulframe?

Explore on foot; there is no shortcut. Look for a grey, gnarled trunk with a large polearm embedded in it, then interact to pull the polearm free. Sixteen exist across Midrath. Each one you cleanse clears map fog around it, adds a Lore Poem line to your Envoy's Journal, and becomes a fast travel destination.

How can I tell if a destination is unlocked for fast travel?

Open the World Map and look at the marker's icon. Eligible destinations carry a Golden Acorn and display a Wevetseed symbol; hold left-click on one to travel. Locations, Dungeons and Revive Shrines never qualify, whatever your seed count. The Lore Poem in your Envoy's Journal shows how many trees you have cleansed.
